firewall engineering.
U.S.-based engineers.
Specialist Next-Generation Firewall deployment, integration, optimization, and technical support from Rhenium Security’s U.S.-based engineering team.
Specialist focus
Build a firewall environment your team can operate with confidence.
A firewall deployment reaches into routing, applications, user access, and day-to-day operations. Rhenium helps connect those dependencies to a practical design, whether you are migrating an existing environment, deploying new capacity, or improving the policies already in place.
Application-aware protection and policy enforcement across hardware, virtual, and cloud firewall deployments.
Official NGFW informationWhat we help with
From the technical detail
to the working environment.
The engagement is scoped around your requirements, dependencies, and internal capabilities.
Architecture & migration
Map traffic flows, application dependencies, deployment requirements, and migration sequencing before making changes.
Policy & segmentation
Review application-aware rules, segmentation boundaries, threat-prevention settings, and the operational impact of proposed policy changes.
Operational readiness
Validate high availability, logging, change procedures, and the documentation your team needs for day-to-day administration.
Where engagements usually start
The firewall is in place.
The questions come later.
Most NGFW work starts with an environment that already runs, and a team that needs it to run cleaner, safer, or on a newer release.
Port-based rules that never became App-ID
Legacy rules migrated from another vendor still allow by port and address. We convert them to App-ID and User-ID policy in stages, with traffic evidence behind every change.
PAN-OS upgrades on HA pairs
Version planning against the support matrix, pre-checks, the upgrade order for active and passive members, and a tested rollback before the maintenance window opens.
Decryption that stalled
SSL decryption rolled out to a pilot group and stopped there. We build the exclusion list, certificate distribution, and phased policy that let it reach the rest of the estate.
Logs that do not reach the tools
Forwarding profiles, log settings, and syslog or Cortex destinations that were configured once and drifted. We verify what actually arrives and fix the gaps.
Across the NGFW family
Hardware, virtual,
and cloud firewalls.
The same PAN-OS policy model runs in very different places. We work across the form factors and the management and subscription layers that sit on top of them.
PA-Series appliances
Data center, campus, and branch firewalls: sizing, HA design, interface and zone layout, and hardware refreshes that carry the policy forward instead of rebuilding it.
VM-Series and Cloud NGFW
Virtual firewalls in private and public cloud, and Cloud NGFW for AWS and Azure, with routing, scaling, and policy that stay consistent with the on-premises estate.
CN-Series for Kubernetes
Container firewalls for east-west and outbound traffic inside clusters, tied to the labels and namespaces your platform team already uses.
Central management
Device groups, templates, and commit workflows in Panorama or Strata Cloud Manager, so dozens of firewalls behave like one policy.
Security subscriptions
Advanced Threat Prevention, Advanced URL Filtering, Advanced WildFire, and DNS Security applied through profiles on the rules that need them, tuned against real traffic.
Remote access
GlobalProtect gateways and portals on the firewall, or a planned move to Prisma Access when on-premises VPN capacity runs out.
The Rhenium foundation
Specialist engineering.
Business perspective.
Every Rhenium engineer is based in the United States. You work with people who can collaborate closely with your team and stay connected to the technical outcome.
A senior architect designs and reviews every engagement, and every change is delivered with a tested rollback plan and documentation your team can operate. The work is judged on the outcome in your environment, not the hours spent in it.

Questions
Next-generation firewall questions.
Do you work on firewalls you did not deploy?
Yes. Most of our NGFW work starts with an environment that already runs, often built by someone who has since moved on. We start by reviewing what is there before recommending changes.
Can you move port-based rules to App-ID?
Yes. We convert port and address rules to App-ID and User-ID policy in stages, using traffic evidence to decide what each rule should allow, so applications keep working while the rule base tightens.
How do you approach PAN-OS upgrades on HA pairs?
We plan the target version against the support matrix, run pre-checks, upgrade the members in a defined order, and prepare a tested rollback before the maintenance window opens.
Is Rhenium Security a Palo Alto Networks partner?
No. Rhenium Security is an independent engineering firm. Our engineers specialize in Palo Alto Networks platforms, and we are not affiliated with, sponsored by, or endorsed by Palo Alto Networks.
How is NGFW work priced?
Pricing follows scope: the number of firewalls and HA pairs, virtual systems, Panorama components, and the change involved. Well-defined changes are quoted from a scoping call; larger estates usually begin with a health check.
